Craigleith Ski Club, founded in 1958, places great emphasis on being a family oriented Club. Our Vision Statement, “Creating a lifetime of memories for our Members' Families, Friends & Future Generations” reflects our commitment to provide the best on and off hill facilities on the Escarpment.

Craigleith has produced many great athletes, most notably Steve Podborski (one of the original “Crazy Canucks”). Who dominated the World Cup in the early 1980’s and put Canada on the Map in the Ski Racing World.

We currently have two members with the Canadian Alpine Ski Team (CAST) Meg Ryley, and Kate Ryley. We also have 3 members on the Ontario Ski Team (A Team) Madison Irwin, Marissa Riopelle and Ben Williams) With 4 athletes on the C Team. We also have upwards of ten athletes perusing ski racing through U.S. colleges, and independent teams.

Craigleith has been really productive in passing along high end athletes up the system to the Ontario and National teams lately as well as running the largest racing program in North America. We set high goals for all of our athletes and look forward to instilling passion to all of the racing participants at the club. We hope to develop and retain as many athletes as possible to continue the overall success of the club. This is in the hands of the Craigleith (Canucks) Coaches!

Craigleith has a staff of over 65 full and part-time coaches ranging in age from 16 to over 40 years of age. We have many qualified coaches with both the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) and the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA). We have several Level 3 CSCF and Level 3 CSIA coaches on staff.

There is a lot of momentum right now in Craigleith’s Racing Program and everyone is getting really excited towards the countdown to 2010 in Whistler, B.C. for the Olympics!!
